If you are using System 7 enhancement utilities, the conflicts between control panels and memory problems could give you headaches. 7Tuner tunes your Finder and System files without causing those problems. One-time installation does it all, and you can tune and untune your system software any time you want! After 7Tuner has tuned your system, you can enjoy the convenient Finder operations without thinking of problems other enhancement utilities may bring to you.
Version 1.0 tunes:
1. Add command-key equivalents to all possible Finder menu items.
2. Make an alias that has the same name as the original file.
3. Add colors to the standard system alert icons.
4. Eliminate the delay of file rename.
5. Speed up window opening by eliminating window rooming.
More tuning options will be added to the future version.

Apple recommends not to edit all system-related files directly, and we are following it completely. That is why we require you to make copies of Finder and System files before using 7Tuner.

If you follow the installation steps, using 7Tuner 1.0 is 100% safe. We, Dragonsoft and authors, are not responsible for any damage to your files due to user's carelessness. In addition, this version of 7Tuner is for 680X0-based Macintosh only, please do not use it on PowerPC-based Power Macintosh!
****** Installation ******
@Tuning:
1. Make copies of "Finder" and "System" files inside your "System Folder."
You can do this in two ways:
A. Select "Duplicate" from Finder's File menu or press Command + D.
B. If the file "Finder" or "System" is locked, Option-drag the file to desktop.
2. Rename "Finder Copy" to "Finder" and "System Copy" to "System" if necessary.
3. Make sure "7Tuner 1.0," copies of "Finder" and "System" are in the SAME FOLDER.
4. Launch "7Tuner 1.0" by double-clicking it.
5. Select "Open" from 7Tuner's File menu.
6. Select options you want to tune by clicking the correspondent check boxes.
7. Click "Tune" radio button.
8. If everything goes well, a dialog will appear and tell you the process is successful.
9. Quit 7Tuner 1.0 and move the original "Finder" and "System" files from System Folder to Trash (do not empty the trash at this moment).
10. Move the tuned copies of "Finder" and "System" from "7Tuner 1.0 Folder" to your "System Folder."
11. Restart your Mac.
12. If the Finder is operating normally, empty the trash or copy the files to your storage device.
@Untuning:
Follow the same steps as Tuning except clicking "Untune."

****** Shareware notice ******
Since Dragonsoft distributes 7Tuner 1.0 as shareware, some of the tuning options are disabled until you register your copy of 7Tuner. After you use 7Tuner 1.0, the enabled options are:
1. Command-key equivalents: Page Setup, Make Alias, Show Clipboard.
2. Alias name.
3. Color icon for Caution alert.
4. Eliminating window rooming.
The options will be enabled after registration are:
1. Command-key equivalents: Clean up Desktop(Window), Empty Trash, Restart.
(Erase Disk and Shut Down are upon request)
2. Color icons for Note and Stop alert.
3. Eliminating delay of file rename.
You can find the same information in the startup dialog or Shareware menu item.
